Everything here has been designed and made by me in my workshop just outside Edinburgh. I mainly use new veg tan leather but I like to use vintage leathers here and there as well for authenticity, when the design calls for it. I’ve always seen clothes and shoes and bags and had ideas about how I would make them differently. So many things now are designed and made to be passable to so many different types of people they just end up bland, without character and impossibly passionless. One day the bland must have just got too much to bear and I started making things. I don’t want to make things people just like, I want to make things that people LOVE, even if it’s just one person on earth that loves it, that’s fine by me. I’ll keep it here in the shop until serendipity brings them together. A bag that makes you feel like the person you were born to be rather than just another nameless shape in the crowd. A pair of shoes that when you look at your feet in them make you feel like you know a secret about yourself. Life is hard a lot of the time and the point is often elusive. I think it helps to let people know who you are, or at least who you want to be. If one of my bags or my shoes can help even a handful of people feel like themselves for just a minute in the thick of a dull day, that would be enough. A lot can happen in a minute.
